The Art Nouveau building with some baroque elements served as a lodge for the Cottbus Freemasons for years at its beginning. It housed an inviting ballroom and was often used as a venue for performances. During the Second World War the lodge was used by Nazi organisations and at the end as a military hospital. From 1957 the large hall served as a chamber stage for the Cottbus State Theatre.<\/p>\r\n
After a vacancy of 16 years, the building was extensively renovated and converted into a residential and commercial building. The building was completely renovated and a complete redesign of the floor plan was carried out, whereby special attention was paid to the accessibility requirements.
