Karlshorst is one of the most popular residential areas in Berlins administrative district Lichtenberg. Known primarily for its harness racing track, Karlshorst is located between Oberschöneweide in the south, Friedrichsfelde in the north, Treptow and the Plänterwald in the west and the Wuhlheide in the southeast.

Karlshorst was founded about 110 years ago as a villa colony and has remained until today one of the most popular residential areas in East Berlin. In this very green district are preferably founders’ buildings, residential buildings from the 20s and 30s and numerous modern family houses.
